Our two surgeons have a combined Andrological experience of over 35 years and are well respected in their field. They regularly receive referrals from across the UK and abroad and are often called upon to be media spokespeople for their specialist area of medicine.
Prof Raj Persad is Consultant Urological Surgeon at Southmead Hospital, trained in London, Cambridge and USA.
He specialises in Andrology and treatment of male pelvic cancer (prostate and bladder).
He has developed minimally invasive techniques to minimise damage to male sexual function in both benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.
He has been a member of national and international guideline committees for prostate and bladder cancer, has worked with NICE national standards guideline development and leads cutting-edge research programmes in both Medical Robotics and Cancer Diagnosis and Therapeutics.
Mr Salah Albuheissi received Specialist Urologic Training in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery in the Southwest of England, Cleveland (USA) and Austria.
His special interest is in the management of kidney, testis and retroperitoneal cancers.
He also manages other conditions including erectile dysfunction, prostate and bladder problems.
He is the Lead Clinician for Urology at Southmead Hospital, the largest Urological Cancer surgery centre in the UK, with an equally good Andrology service.
His main research interest is uro-oncology & Andrology.
